Home Reservations
Tables are released at 10:00am fourteen days in advance for parties of one to six. Friday and Saturday go inside the hour; Wednesday and Thursday usually hold until the afternoon.
Twelve of our thirty-four seats sit at the rail and are never bookable. They are first come, first served every night until close — and they are the best seats in the room.
Request a table
Every request is read by the person on the door rota, not a queue. You will hear back the same evening if you book before five, and by noon the following day otherwise.
If the slot you want isn't available we will tell you what is, and hold a rail seat under your name for the first thirty minutes of the window you asked for.
Policy
A small room only works if the rules are stated plainly and applied to everyone. Nothing below is negotiated at the door.
01 — Minimum spend
That is the whole minimum, and nobody has ever hit it as a ceiling. There is no cover charge at any hour, on any night. Parties of seven or more and full buyouts carry stated minimums — those are on the private events page and are agreed in writing before the date is held.
02 — Cancellation
Cancel or change by replying to your confirmation email up to 24 hours before the booking and nothing is charged. Inside 24 hours, or for a no-show, we charge $25 per reserved seat to the card on file. Running late is not a no-show — call the room and we hold for thirty minutes.
03 — Dress
We have never required a tie and we are not about to start. After 8pm on Friday and Saturday we do turn away athletic wear, beachwear and large printed logos — the room is thirty-four seats and everything reads loudly in it. If you are unsure, you are almost certainly fine.
04 — Age & ID
Everyone entering the room must be 21 or over and carry photo identification, regardless of what they intend to order. This applies to the rail, the tables and private hire alike. It is a condition of our licence and the door does not have discretion on it.
05 — Table time
Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday tables are yours for the evening. On Friday and Saturday we run a two-hour limit so the second seating happens — you will be told the end time when you sit, and if the room is quiet nobody will move you.
06 — Large parties
Seven guests is a fifth of the room, so those go through the private events page and are confirmed by a person. Groups above twelve are handled as a partial hire with a stated minimum spend. We do not split a large party across separate tables.
Finding the door
Look for the single brass lamp on the harbour side of the block, between the framing shop and the shuttered garage. There is no sign, no menu board and no host stand outside — go down the five steps and push.
A paid lot sits two minutes east on the same side of the street. The room is reached by five steps down from the pavement with a handrail; step-free access is via the delivery door on the west side — call ahead and we will meet you there.
Reservations
