Auverre started because Hélène Auverre could not get a stone reset properly. She had inherited an emerald from her grandmother, took it to four houses on the Rue de la Paix, and was told four different things about what it was. The fourth quoted her a price without ever putting it under a loupe in front of her.
She trained for six years, took the bench above the old shop on Rue Chapon in 1994, and set the emerald herself. It is still on her hand. The rule she wrote on the wall that year has not changed: if you cannot tell the client where it came from, do not sell it to them.
That rule is why we do not stock plated jewellery, why every stone above 0.30 ct arrives with a lab report and a named mine, and why the jeweller who sets your piece strikes their own initials inside the band. If something goes wrong with it in thirty years, you will know whose bench to bring it back to. Most of them are still here.
We release two collections a year and discontinue nothing. A piece stays in the book so it can be remade, resized, or matched decades on — which is the only definition of fine jewellery we find useful.
