All 84 toys, sorted by what they can do

Age bands here describe a stage, not a birthday. A cautious two-year-old and a determined one-year-old often want the same box. Every listing states the smallest part in it, so you can make the call yourself.

Choking hazard — read the age band Toys marked 3+ contain small parts and are not suitable for children under three. Under-3 toys are made to clear the small-parts cylinder specified in EN 71-1. Supervise play with any toy that has loose pieces, and check for damage before each use.

Still deciding

Not sure which band you're buying for?

Age bands on a box are a legal minimum, not a recommendation. Here's how we'd actually pick one.

  • Buying for a child under three? Stay in the 0–1 or 1–3 bands — nothing there contains a small part.
  • Younger sibling in the house? A 3+ set on the living-room floor is a 3+ set for everyone in the room.
  • Buying ahead for a birthday? Open-ended sets (planks, blocks) stretch three or four years — graded sets don't.
  • Every listing publishes its smallest part in millimetres. If you'd rather judge for yourself, that's the number to read.
