What we do

Everything under one warm roof

From the first puppy shot to the quiet years, we look after the whole life — not just the visit in front of us.

Wellness exams

A 40-minute nose-to-tail check with time to actually talk. Weight, joints, teeth, heart, gut — plus a plan you can afford.

From $75

Vaccinations

Core and lifestyle vaccines timed to how your pet actually lives. Hiking dog and windowsill cat don't need the same schedule.

From $32 per shot

Dental care

Full-mouth dental X-rays, scaling and extractions under monitored anaesthesia. Most bad breath is a fixable problem.

From $395

Surgery

Spays, neuters, mass removals and soft-tissue work. Dedicated anaesthesia nurse on every procedure, no exceptions.

From $290

Grooming & nails

Baths, de-shedding, sanitary trims and the nail clip nobody at home wants to attempt. Anxious pets get a quiet room.

From $55

Microchip & travel

Chipping, registration and USDA-endorsed health certificates for flying, moving or crossing a border with a nervous cat.

From $45

We keep the team small on purpose. You'll see the same face at the follow-up as you did at the first appointment.

Cats-only mornings, no barking

Half of what terrifies a cat at the vet happens in the waiting room. So twice a week we simply remove the dogs.

Carrier stays putWe examine cats in the bottom half of their own carrier wherever we can. Fewer hands, less fight.

Why pet parents stay

Calm pets, honest bills

The two things people tell us they were missing at their last clinic. So we built the practice around them.

  • Written estimates before we touch anything — no surprise line items.
  • Cats-only mornings, dogs-only afternoons. Nobody meets in the lobby.
  • Your vet calls you personally with results, not a front-desk voicemail.
  • Payment plans through CareCredit and Scratchpay, applied in the room.

“Mochi used to scream in the carrier from the driveway. Dr. Raman does cats-only mornings and he now walks in on his own. I didn't think that was a thing that could happen.”

“Dr. Bissett found a mass on Rudy's spleen, showed me the ultrasound on the screen, gave me the estimate in writing, and operated on Thursday. Rudy is currently asleep on my feet.”

“We moved here from Portland with two elderly cats and one very anxious terrier. Paws & Pines took all three in the same week and remembered every name at the follow-up.”

Urgent care

Something's wrong right now?

Call before you drive. We hold two triage slots every afternoon, and if you're better off at the 24-hour hospital in Redmond we'll tell you straight away — and call ahead for you.

What does "fear-free certified" actually mean?

Every member of our clinical team is trained and certified in low-stress handling. In practice: non-slip mats on every table, treats before restraint, pheromone diffusers in each room, and permission to stop and reschedule if your pet has had enough. We would rather see you twice than terrify them once.

Are you taking new patients?

Yes — for dogs, cats, and rabbits. We usually have same-week wellness appointments and can see urgent cases the same day. Exotics and birds we'll happily refer to High Desert Avian, two blocks over.

How much will this cost?

You get a written estimate before anything begins, and we call you if the plan changes mid-visit. Wellness exams start at $75, dentals at $395, spays and neuters at $290. We take CareCredit and Scratchpay, and we'll set it up with you in the exam room.

My cat completely melts down at the vet. What then?

Book a Tuesday or Thursday morning — those are cats-only, no dogs on the premises, separate entrance. If that's still too much, we'll send home a light pre-visit sedative to give an hour before you leave. Most cats who "can't be handled" turn out to be handleable in the right room.

Do you handle emergencies after hours?

We have an on-call vet for our registered patients evenings and Sundays — call the clinic line and you'll be routed. For anything requiring overnight hospitalisation we work directly with the 24-hour hospital in Redmond and will call ahead so they're expecting you.

Can I stay in the room during the exam?

Please do. Most pets are calmer with you there, and you'll catch the things we'd otherwise have to ask about. The only exceptions are radiographs and surgery, for safety reasons — and we'll bring the images out to you afterwards.
