Send a request and we confirm by phone within one business day. Same-day rooms open most mornings at eight — call for those.

What to expect

Your first visit

If you've never been, here's the shape of it. Nothing to prepare, nothing to bring.

The Stillwater rest lounge: pale wood, linen and potted greenery in soft daylight
Arrive — 30 min early

Come early

We hand you a robe, sandals and a locker. Every treatment includes the bathhouse before and after, so arrive thirty minutes early to warm up in the sauna.

Your treatment

One room, no clock

One therapist walks you to your room. They ask about pressure and quiet, then let you be. Undress to your comfort; you're draped the whole time.

After — stay a while

Don't rush off

Rinse, plunge, then the rest lounge with tea. Nobody hurries you out. Most guests stay another forty minutes; the day is yours.

The quiet policy

How the house works

A few gentle rules keep the room the way people come here for. None of them are strict — just kind.

Phones stay in the locker

No phones past the courtyard gate. If you're expecting a call, tell the front desk and we'll find you.

Voices stay low

The bathhouse and rest lounge are quiet spaces. Conversation is welcome in the tea kitchen and courtyard.

Arrive thirty minutes early

Late arrivals shorten the treatment, not the next guest's. Come early, warm up, and start unhurried.

Tell us what you need

Pressure, temperature, silence, an injury — say it. Our therapists would rather you ask than endure.

Cancellations within 24 hours

Life happens. Cancel or move a booking any time up to twenty-four hours before; inside that window we charge half the treatment.

Gratuity is never expected

Our therapists are paid a full wage. Tips are welcome but never assumed, and never suggested at the desk.

Before you come

Questions, answered

The things people ask when they call. If yours isn't here, the front desk is happy to talk it through.

Do I have to book a treatment, or can I just use the bathhouse?

You can book the bathhouse on its own — that's Contrast Bathing & Rest, two hours with tea and the rest lounge. Members visit the bathhouse any weekday without booking a treatment.

What do I wear, and what's provided?

We provide a robe, sandals, towels and a locker. Bring a swimsuit for the bathhouse if you'd like — many guests do, though the sauna and cold well can be enjoyed robed. Everything else is here.

Can I come with a friend or partner?

Yes. Book the Couples Massage or the Quiet Pair for side-by-side treatments, or simply arrive together and share the bathhouse. Choose "Two of us" on the form and we'll arrange the room.

I have an injury or I'm pregnant — is that alright?

Absolutely — note it on the booking form. We'll pair you with a therapist trained for it, and offer the Prenatal Massage for the second and third trimesters. When in doubt, call and we'll guide you.

How far ahead should I book?

Weekday mornings are often available same-day; call before eight. Weekends and the long rituals book out a week or two ahead. Members get the calendar first.

What's your cancellation policy?

Cancel or reschedule any time up to twenty-four hours before your visit at no charge. Inside twenty-four hours, we charge half the treatment. No-shows are charged in full.

Is Stillwater accessible?

The treatment rooms, tea kitchen and rest lounge are step-free and wheelchair accessible. The cold well has a seated entry. Tell us what you need when you book and we'll make sure your visit works.

Rooms open most mornings. Take one.

Send a request above, or call the front desk. We'll have the sauna warm and a robe waiting.
