What we treat & how

Six specialties. One measured method.

Every condition below is treated by a named licensed physical therapist on a written plan of care, in one-hour sessions, with your baseline measurements re-tested every third visit. Rates for all of it are published at the bottom of this page.

01 — Sports injury

Sports injury & overuse

Typical plan
6–10 sessions
Lead therapist
Tomas Ruiz, DPT
Referral needed
No

Hamstring and calf strains, lateral ankle sprains, patellofemoral pain, Achilles and patellar tendinopathy, rotator cuff irritation and tennis elbow. Most of these are load problems rather than damage problems, which is why we test the movement that hurt you before we treat the joint that aches.

A typical course starts with settling symptoms enough to load the tissue, then builds capacity back past where you were when it failed. For runners that usually means gait work on the treadmill alongside strength; for lifters it means fixing the position before adding the plates back.

  • Hamstring strain
  • Ankle sprain
  • Runner's knee
  • Achilles tendinopathy
  • Shin splints
  • Rotator cuff
  • Tennis elbow
  • Shoulder impingement

02 — Post-surgical

Post-surgical rehabilitation

Typical plan
12–24 sessions
Lead therapist
Marguerite Hale, DPT
Referral needed
Surgeon's protocol

ACL and meniscus reconstruction, rotator cuff repair, total knee and total hip replacement, Achilles repair and lumbar decompression. We work from your surgeon's protocol rather than a generic timeline, and we send a progress note back to their office at the end of each phase.

Post-op rehab is the longest work we do — an ACL reconstruction runs roughly nine months across four phases. We write out what each phase has to achieve before the next one starts, so nobody is guessing whether you're ready to run.

  • ACL reconstruction
  • Meniscus repair
  • Rotator cuff repair
  • Total knee
  • Total hip
  • Achilles repair
  • Lumbar decompression
  • Shoulder labrum

03 — Chronic pain

Chronic & persistent pain

Typical plan
10–16 sessions
Lead therapist
Priyanka Venkat, DPT
Referral needed
No

Low back pain, neck pain and headaches lasting longer than three months, plus widespread pain conditions. By this point the tissue has usually healed and the nervous system hasn't caught up, so the work looks different: graded exposure, a load plan you can keep to, and honest education about what hurting does and doesn't mean.

We will not tell you your pain is imaginary, and we will not sell you an endless maintenance plan. If sixteen sessions haven't moved your numbers, we say so and refer you on.

  • Chronic low back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Cervicogenic headache
  • Sciatica
  • Widespread pain
  • Post-injury guarding
  • Work-related strain

04 — Pelvic health

Pelvic health & perinatal

Typical plan
6–12 sessions
Lead therapist
Adaeze Okafor, DPT
Referral needed
No

Pre- and postpartum care, stress and urge incontinence, pelvic girdle pain, diastasis recti and return to running after birth. All pelvic-health appointments are in the private room off the east corridor, with a door that locks and gowns available.

Internal assessment is offered, never assumed. Plenty of patients get where they need to go without one, and you can decline at any point in your course of care without it changing your plan.

  • Postpartum recovery
  • Stress incontinence
  • Pelvic girdle pain
  • Diastasis recti
  • Return to running
  • Prenatal strength
  • Painful intercourse

05 — Balance & geriatric

Balance, vestibular & geriatric

Typical plan
8–14 sessions
Lead therapist
Priyanka Venkat, DPT
Referral needed
No

Fall prevention, vestibular rehabilitation for BPPV and dizziness, post-fracture strength and general conditioning for adults over 65. We score balance formally at the evaluation and re-score it at discharge, so improvement is documented rather than felt.

A small-group balance class runs Wednesday and Friday mornings for eight patients at a time, led by a therapist. Many patients run it alongside one-to-one sessions in the second half of their plan.

  • Fall prevention
  • BPPV / vertigo
  • Post-fracture strength
  • Gait retraining
  • Osteoporosis loading
  • Post-stroke mobility
  • Group balance class

06 — Return to sport

Return-to-sport testing

Typical plan
1–3 sessions
Lead therapist
Marguerite Hale, DPT
Referral needed
No

A standalone battery for athletes who have finished rehab elsewhere and want a second opinion before going back. Single and triple hop for distance, crossover hop, isometric strength ratios on the dynamometer, and a limb-symmetry index calculated across all of it.

You get the raw numbers, a plain-English report and a clear answer. We have told plenty of cleared athletes that their operated leg is still 20% down — every one of them would rather have heard it from us than found out on the field.

  • Single & triple hop
  • Crossover hop
  • Limb symmetry index
  • Isometric strength ratios
  • Y-balance
  • Written report

Techniques

What we actually do in the hour.

Manual therapy buys a window where things move better. Loaded exercise is what makes the change stick. Almost every session at Baseline uses both, in that order.

Close view of a therapist's hands working along a patient's upper back and shoulder blade on a treatment table.
Soft-tissue work, thoracic spine — first fifteen minutes of a neck-pain session, before loaded range work.
  • Joint mobilisation & manipulationGraded passive movement to restore range at a stiff joint, most often the ankle, hip, thoracic spine and shoulder.
  • Soft-tissue & trigger-point workHands-on release of guarded muscle, used to open a window for the exercise that follows — not as a treatment on its own.
  • Dry needlingOffered by two of our therapists for persistent muscular trigger points. Always optional, always consented separately.
  • Progressive loadingIsometrics, heavy-slow resistance and plyometrics, prescribed by phase. This is the part that changes tissue capacity.
  • Gait & movement retrainingTreadmill and video analysis for runners, plus lifting technique work for anyone whose back complains at the gym.
  • Vestibular repositioningEpley and related manoeuvres for positional vertigo, usually resolved within one to three visits.

Plan of care

What the written plan contains.

You get this document by email within 24 hours of your evaluation. It's one page, it's dated, and it gets revised at every re-test rather than quietly extended.

Section 01

Your baseline

The measurements taken at the evaluation: range of motion in degrees, strength in kilograms on the dynamometer, a pain score and a function score specific to your problem.

Section 02

Discharge criteria

The numbers you need to hit before we stop, written on day one so they can't drift. For an ACL that's a limb-symmetry index above 90% across four tests.

Section 03

Visit count & phases

How many sessions we expect, split into phases, with what each phase has to achieve before the next one begins. Revised in writing if the re-test says otherwise.

Section 04

Your home program

Two to four exercises, with sets, reps and how they should feel. Updated every visit. Nothing on the list takes more than fifteen minutes a day.

Rates & billing

Published prices. No surprise invoices.

Insurance. We bill most major commercial insurers as an in-network or out-of-network provider, and we are a Medicare-enrolled practice. Coverage varies by plan, so we run a benefits check before your first visit and quote you your expected per-visit cost in writing.

If you're paying cash. The rates above are the rates — there is no separate facility fee, no charge for equipment, and no additional billing for the exercises you take home. Cancellations inside 24 hours are charged at $60.
