How billing works
What a seat costs, and when
Three rules govern every invoice we send. There is no fourth rule in the fine print.
You pay for active seats
A seat is billed only when someone signs in during the cycle. Deactivate a leaver and the credit lands on your next invoice automatically — no true-up call.
Proration is daily
Add five people on the 14th and you pay for 17 days, not a month. Upgrading mid-cycle bills the difference for the remaining days only.
Viewers are free, forever
Executives, board members, and clients who only read reports never consume a seat. Invite as many as you like on any plan.

What counts as a billable user?
Anyone who signs in and posts a standup, moves a task, or edits a doc during the billing cycle. Report-only viewers — execs, board members, clients — are free on every plan and don't count toward your seat total.
What happens if we exceed our automation runs?
Nothing breaks. Automations keep running and we email your workspace admin with the overage — $0.002 per additional run, capped at the cost of the next plan up. You will never be silently throttled mid-sprint.
Can we switch between monthly and annual?
Yes, at any time. Switching to annual credits your unused monthly balance against the new term. Switching back to monthly takes effect at the end of your paid year — we don't claw back the discount.
Do you offer discounts for non-profits or startups?
Registered non-profits and educational institutions get 50% off any plan. Startups under 20 people with less than $2M raised get Growth free for 12 months. Write to us from your work address and we'll set it up.
What happens to our data if we cancel?
Export everything — boards, docs, standup history, reports — as JSON or CSV with one click, at any time, on any plan. After cancellation we keep your workspace recoverable for 90 days, then delete it permanently.
Can we pay by invoice instead of card?
Annual plans over 25 seats can pay by bank transfer on NET-30 terms. Send us your PO and billing contact and we'll issue the invoice — no card ever needs to touch the account.
