Batch 19 · the story of these bowls

Twelve sets went in.
Nine came out right.

Nadia threw these over two mornings in late October, forty-eight bowls off a single 43 kg bag of grey stoneware. They dried five days on the north shelf, which is slower than the south shelf and the reason the rims didn't warp.

The ash glaze in this batch ran a shade paler than batch 18 — the wood ash came from a different cord of oak, and oak ash is like that. Three sets came out of the kiln with a glaze crawl on the foot and went to the seconds shelf at half price. Nine sets are here.
